James is an international lighting designer who has been working in the entertainment industry for the past 20 years.

The past 5 years have seen James reimagine his unique story telling approach, through light, in a theatrical environment and adapt his creations to large, outdoor, immersive, experiences.

Immersive, Light Art, experiences are both a skill and a passion of James’ particularly since COVID and the abrupt closure of theatres.

Working in the theatre, as a disabled artist is sometimes a battle, and Light Art provides James with more freedom to design to any scale, without boundaries or obstacles whilst still creating multi-sensory, unforgettable experiences that are accessible to a range of audiences.

Arts Council England have supported James to develop new, accessible work that is championed by the inspiring producers behind  www.audacious.org.uk and www.lightuptrails.com

where James’ work will be showcased again this year.

James is proud to say he is a disabled lighting designer.
